Dr Dean Grimmond

Dr Dean Grimmond is a GP registrar committed to providing comprehensive, evidence-based healthcare for individuals and families across regional New South Wales.

Originally from the small rural community of Hermidale, Dean understands the unique healthcare challenges faced by rural Australians and is committed to improving access to high-quality primary healthcare close to home. He values building long-term relationships with his patients and believes continuity of care is fundamental to achieving the best health outcomes.

Dean graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from The University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle. As part of the Western Australian Rural Clinical School, he completed the final two years of his medical degree in Esperance and Bunbury, gaining valuable experience across a wide range of rural and regional healthcare settings. He subsequently completed his internship and resident medical officer training at Bunbury Regional Hospital in Western Australia before undertaking registrar positions in both General Medicine and Paediatrics in Bunbury and later at Dubbo Base Hospital. This broad hospital experience has provided him with a strong foundation in the assessment and management of acute and chronic medical conditions across all stages of life.

Dean enjoys all aspects of general practice, with interests in preventative health, paediatric medicine, chronic disease management and palliative care. He values working collaboratively with specialists and allied health professionals to provide coordinated, patient-centred care and believes in partnering with patients to help them achieve their long-term health goals.

Outside of medicine, Dean enjoys spending time with his wife Holly and their greyhound, Titus. A self-titled armchair historian, he has a keen interest in researching his family's history and the stories of rural communities, particularly those of Western New South Wales. He is proud to be building his career in regional Australia and looks forward to providing long-term care for the Dubbo community and surrounding districts.
